MY TYCO PAGE

This page is for a project that started out as a cheap toy and turned into another R/C Mutant:

I've had this little Tyco toy for about ten years. I originally bought it to play around in the warehouse of the company I worked for at the time. It wasn't long before several of us were running REAL R/C pan cars back there (after hours, of course).

I wasn't happy with the "bang-bang" steering and lack of porportional speed control that is typical of these toys, and once I got into Graphite pan cars the Tyco sat on a shelf until I got bored one day and decided to see if I could do anything with it...

A few spare Associated oil shocks, servo, receiver, and ESC finished it off. The amazing thing is how easy everything went together. The hardest part was making the Plexiglass plate for the electronics to sit on!

It performs surprisingly well, in spite of the extra weight. Of course peak-charging the 1000mAh packs help!
