This page is my way of showing off some of my Radio Controlled Toys.

I've recently been getting into Electric R/C Airplanes !

Here's my Kyosho USA-1. At least that's what it looked like before I took it apart to build Spot! I've been interested in a 4WD/4WS monster truck for a while and decided to go ahead and get the kit. Also, note my homemade aluminum bumpers and bash plates... That turquoise paint was custom-mixed by me BTW (I had enough left over from when I painted the '57 Chevy Pickup ).

As much fun as Spot is, I missed the USA-1 so I'm rebuilding it. It'll have it's own page soon, but in the meantime here are a few pics:

SPOT UPDATE!

Spot is not going to be the greatest toy to throw down in the evenings and bash around in the street. Unfortunately, the street is getting a little rough for my Graphite RC-10L too.

I've read about the "dual-sport" cars and that's probably a good in-between car for the street. I've got a collection of Associated parts (including some used racing goodies like graphite chassis') so I decided to build up one on my own. Basically this is a RC-10 with Pro-Line "Street-Hawg" tires on HPI wheels. I haven't decided what motor to use yet ( I have a selection, from Kyosho 360 Monster Truck motors to a Reedy Elite, a Green Machine, an old handout motor from somewhere, and does anybody know the specs for a Parma "Tiger"?). I'll drive it with my old Futaba 2PBKA AM radio. The Lambo' body was on my '10L for a while.

I've got to work out the weight balance and everything, but this is pretty close to what it'll look like.

Here's a Tyco toy that I converted to "REAL" R/C gear!

The steering turned out to be a challenge, both to fit it in the chassis and to make it work right (for you automotive-engineering types: the Ackerman angles work out VERY close!).

This is the Original '57 Chevy Truck .

As you can see, it's fun in the rare snow we get here in Atlanta (this was a few years ago) if you remember to apply a little duct tape to keep the water out!

This is the Boat ...

Of course, what good is a truck and a boat if you don't have a trailer?

The trailer also comes in handy for carrying the videocamera!

Nothing against Tower, or any other mail-order house, but I have to say "Support your local Hobby Shop!" if you're lucky enough to have one (or more) nearby.

B and B Sales is one of my local hobby shops, and I buy most of my airplane stuff from them!

Perry's Hobbys and Todds Models are on the web and you can't go wrong with either of them.
