On this the 23 d day of March 1843 Personally appeared before
me Stephen Stone an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said county
Mrs. Barshaba Bradshaw who after being duly Sworn according to Law on
her oath makes the following statements to be ??? as evidence on the
application of Mrs. Elizabeth Bradshaw for the benefit of the act of 7 th
July 1838, towit That she is a daughter in law of the afs d
Mrs. Elizabeth Bradshaw and that the afs d Mrs. Elizabeth
Bradshaw is the widow of Claiborne Bradshaw who was a Revolutinary
Pensioner of the United States and departed this life on the 3 rd
day of May 1842 and that afs d widow has never married since
the death of said Claiborne but is still his widow. Deponent
further saith that she is now living in the house of said widow and the
one in which said Claiborne lived previous to his death ant that said
widow has no documentary evidence in support of her claim to a Pension
except a leaf from a Book now in her pofsefsion which lef is herewith
filed and annexed to this by wafers and the written entrys on which show,
that Sally Bradshaw daughter afs d Claiborne and said widow
was born the 24 th day of October 1782 and the said written
entrys according to deponents own Knowledge is in the own proper
handwriting of the afs d Claiborne deceased and the entry
?????? and not completed is also the proper had write of s d
Claiborne as afs d. She further Saith that said
Elizabeth is so infeebled by old age that she cannot leave her room
& cannot necefsarily attend in open court and the residence of Mrs.
Claiborne Bradshaw afs d is about four miles from Harrodsburg
in said County of Mercer |
