In the course of a lifetime
We find something special
When we least expect it,
In the most unexpected place
In a most unusual way.

Perhaps we go somewhere new
For no particular reason
And find a jewel  just by luck
Waiting for us to come along
And take the time to pick it up!

You look at it with widened eyes
A strange smile on your face,
And wonder if its real or not,
Without caring you pick it up,
Because it has beckoned you.

As the time passes by you
The jewel shines brighter
With  each new found day.
You hold it close to your heart
 and you  treasure it and its beauty.
                
             
     
      II     

 Our FRIENDSHIP is like the jewel,
Found where you least expected.
In a time most important to you.
In a way that is very strange indeed
But for the fact  it beckoned you.

You nurture it with each new day,
Caring not that it is not worth money.
The friendship itself is priceless.
And like the rarest jewel on earth
You  treasure it for what it means to you.

     

     III   

Somehow through fate and the
Miracle of cyberspace and AOL
We found each other in this place, 
In this time and in this way,
Without any questions asked.

We picked it up not caring
If it was real or not
Nurtured and cared for it
With love and understanding.
The future left to the Gods.

Through these  short months
We have become like one,
In thought, deed and mind
Knowing words not yet spoken
Thoughts not yet formed.

May all of our tomorrow's be
Like the shining jewel
Our friendship  growing brighter
And more  priceless with passing time
And nurtured, loved, and treasured.

 And like that jewel of  life
We hold it close to our hearts,
Treasuring it a new day.
Neither knowing or caring WHY
Just thankful that it is...........
