This film was slated for a late 1996 release in the US when its distribution company went bust. While I'm not sure if it actually did get released theatrically in the US, it was recently released in Singapore and Hong Kong and I think it may be out on video in the UK. In a book about Patrick Stewart he commented that he was disappointed that some of his scenes with Leslie Caron were cut.

The synopsis: Corinne (YB) and Bud (Jamie Goodwin) are a couple who own a dance studio - "Dance With Me". When Gabriel (Campbell Scott) who's a bit of a klutz, decides to take dancing lessons to impress his fiancee (Jennifer Beals) and then decides that they should take lessons together, complications arise...(hey, I'm not going to spoil the story for you :) )

This film is now a new release video in Australia and I recently saw it and was very impressed with YB's performance and her dancing skills - wow! Overall though, I didn't think the film itself was that great - but don't mind my shoddy 10 word review - if you get a chance, see it - it's still an enjoyable feel-good movie. Also, the songs featured are pretty darn groovy. There's also the added bonus of seeing Patrick Stewart *with hair* - a phenomenon I haven't witnessed since watching 'I Claudius' some years ago ;-)

Well. I saw this one 3 or 4 times in a row. The reason for such seeming stupidity? Yancy Butler. I didn't know she had such a great build, and I'm no expert but she can make a dance floor catch fire, make no mistake. I became an instant fan. Both of Yancy and Latin-American Dancing or Ballroom Dancing then :)

The poster was taken from a site which doesn't exist anymore - there was more information on the site (probably a synopsis) but unfortunately, I don't understand Russian
