The Magick of Gems

Gems are crystals and crystals are matter that is organized into a definite repeating pattern. It is to their definite and regular structure that gems and crystals owe their beauty and their power. On a magickal level, the crystal lattice provides a "filter" to regularize and amplify the magickal energy that you send through them. Different types and kinds of crystals work better with different types of energy, though any will work with any.

Diamond Purest of the gems, diamond is also the hardest. It is reflective of the nature of the One. It occurs in colors from colorless to bright yellow and deep blue. It is a good stone for all magickal operations, but due to it's rarity and cost it is hard to obtain one of a good size. (those 1/16 carat chips are awfully hard to focus on hehe) Ruby Deep to light red, Ruby is special to the Masculine Powers in the Universe. It is reflective of the nature of the God. Useful in matters of dominion and power, light and warmth. It is an aid to bringing Wisdom and can represent the Gods Thor, Mars, Zeus, Osiris and Saturn. Brings focus to the healing of the head and face, and musculature system. Sapphire Deep to light blue, Sapphire is special to the Feminine Powers in the Universe. It is useful in matters of the heart, in growth, nurturing and motherhood. It is an aid to bringing serenity and peace of mind and can be used to represent the Goddess. Brings focus to the healing of spirit and mental disturbances. Amethyst Lavender to deep purple, Amethyst is useful for matters concerned with honour, riches, apparel and brings focus to healing of the digestive system. Topaz Golden yellow to light yellow, Topaz is the gold of the Sun. It is useful for works of fortune, gold, rulership, and inheritance and brings focus to the healing of the arms, shoulders and heart troubles. Emerald Deep green to light blue-green, Emerald is useful in matters of love, music, pleasure and luxory, It brings focus to the healing of skin disorders and the reproductive system. Opal Milky blue-white to fiery red-blue-green, opal is a soft stone and reflects the nature of Mercury. It is useful for works in the field of books, learning, gambling and calculation. It brings focus to the healing of disorders of the circulatory system. Moonstone Milky white and luminescent, Moonstone reminds us of the glory of the full moon. Quartz is an excellent stone for divination and amplifying the effects of other stones. It is a good foundation stone on which to build. Amber Amber is petrified tree sap and is one of the few gems that are organic in nature. It is useful in matters of patience. Amber brings focus to the healing of stomach problems.
