This is the radio which, according to a May '56 Consumer Reports review, "may appeal to those who would rather be seen carrying a book."

Other "volumes" included "Treasure Island," "As You Like It," "Musical Memories," and "Magic Mood."

The JM-8 series radio employed three subminiature tubes and two transistors, and it sold for around $50.
