Question: Are you planning on having a foal?

Answer:

I have some REALLY mixed feelings about that.

When I'm with pregnant mares, new born foals and babies I get wistful about children. My wife calls it womb envy yet it is much deeper than that.

When the rational part of the mind takes control I get all prissy about the idea of having a stallion on my back. To say that I'm a little leery about that kind of committment would be a gross understatement. (My wife suggests using AI as a way around what she feels is the reason I feel that way.)

Unfortunately the rational mind can't overcome all of the equine urges associated with going into heat. At that point I have a deep and urgent need to get pregnant. Thankfully it lasts for less than a day and it can be countered with the proper environment. (Although I refust to use drugs on a regular basis. If I can't beat this naturally I better come up with other solutions.)

In the long run I suspect I will have one or more foals despite my reservations. I just hope that it is a rational choice.
