WHAT DO PERSIANS THINK ABOUT KURDS IN IRAN
Persians are divided among themselves. One group that supports the Islamic regime feels differently than other Persians who oppose the Regime.
The supporters of the Iranian Regime consider Kurds as foreign bodies. They hate Kurds because of their religion. They know Kurds accepted the Persian Supremacy and dictatorship. They know Kurds will separate from Iran, if they could. This group of Persians consider Kurds as dangerous and tough. Persians are still very upset with Kurds because they didn’t have any active participation in the Iran-Iraq War and they did not care much about Iran or Iraq.
They call Kurdistan a second Israel. This group of Persians is afraid of Kurds, even though they know Kurds are not an equal enemy. Kurds have no money and no power. At the present time, they can not be a serious threat for Iran’s stability. They think Kurds are like cancer cells. If you let them grow, they will be dangerous to the integrity of Iran.
The second group of Persians, mainly scholars and intellectuals who don’t agree with the policy of the current Government. They respect Kurds for their different determination and strong will. Kurds were the first group in Iran that fought the Islamic Regime. They helped a lot of Persians flee the country. Several Persian Parties moved to Kurdistau to coordinate their activities with each other against the Iranian Regime. Even the Persian’s intellectuals and scholars never would agree with separation and self determination of Kurdistan. Now they try to survive the Iranian Regime with the help of Kurds and later they will have a different opinion.
The main problem with Persian culture is its lack of tolerance for diversity. Kurds, Bahai, and Jews, have been suffering greatly because they are different and do not accept the way Persians treat them.
