I was greeted with this vendor’s smile at Wajima’s famous morning market. This city, located on Noto Peninsula along the Sea of Japan, is famous for its fresh fish and elegant lacquerware.

"A Golden Smile" is one in a series of photographs depicting life in Japan. As an artist, I enjoy the hands-on experience of painting directly on my prints. By highlighting the focal points, I’m able to present an image that’s unique and distinguishable from coloured photographs.

Greeting cards are ¥250 each.
