Edouard Louis Sorel was born in 1825, somewhere in Quebec Provence in Canada. On Aguust 19, 1845, he married Justine Sorel, his paternal grandmother's brother's daughter, in Napierville, Quebec, Canada.
We know of two children of Edouard and Justine: Peter Sorell (using the spelling on his tombstone), and Marie Sorel, "who married a Mr. Bisnette". There may have been others.
Edouard moved from Canada to Illinois in 1858 when Peter was but 2 years old, and sometime before 1881 settled in the Concordia, Cloud County, Kansas area.
Edouard died on February 11, 1900, in St. Joseph, Cloud County, Kansas.
