"Ensign Miller, report to the
bridge!"
Your shift has begun. You enter
the bridge. Since this is your first shift, you take your place at the
observer's station. The USS Imperial is leaving Starbase 28. You
watch as the docking doors open and your ship glides out and accelerates
to Warp 7. The stars on the viewscreen become streaks of paint. The USS
Imperial is on its way to the Neutral Zone, where Romulan attacks have
been reported. At Warp 7, it will take the Imperial three days to
reach the Neutral Zone. Your shift passes uneventfully. Afterwards, you
return to your quarters and rest. The next day, you are ordered to the
holosuite for training.
