My brother, the one who was married to the girl who declared bankruptcy recently to escape her irresponsible behavior with money, called to wish me a happy mother's day and wanted to know why I didn't talk about how awesome HE is doing with reducing the debt he had when they divorced a while back. Further, how could his sister have such an awesome website without ONCE mentioning her terrific brother??
So....
I find a lot of people inspirational. Usually they are very hardworking, self aware, responsibly minded people. My brother is one of the greatest of those. We're both sensitive, due to the careful raising we received from our parents, but we're sensitive in different ways. He's possibly one of the most committed men I know. When he makes a friend, it's for life. There's no halfway, no holding back. He will do anything for a friend, a true friend, as well as family. I admire his open, giving heart.
As he has often told me, "Men are pigs." He's right, of course. I keep a mental list of True Men. The list is very short. He heads that list. Yes, girls, he is cute AND he's single.
Relating back to the topic at hand, the hardworking man that is my brother, who works 60+ hours a week carrying heavy ladders (which, btw, has made him totally buff), inspires me to keep working on my own debt. He's going to beat me by a good 8 months or so getting out of debt. Cool, hunh? I think this means I'm going to get a GREAT Christmas present this year. ;-)
All kidding aside, I'm proud of my brother. I'm glad I have the considerable pleasure to know him and to have known him all his life. His sense of humor has always been greater than mine, and I like to think that I've learned a few things about how to laugh at life from him. I love you, Chris.
