Lady Banks' Rose
Family: Rosaceae
Origin: China
Hardiness: USDA Zones 8, 9 and 10
Growth: Rapid growth to 20 feet
Form: Climber; stems do not have thorns (prickles)
Leaves: Compound leaves with 3 to 7 small leaflets;
deciduous in coldest winters
Flowers: Clusters of one inch yellow or white flowers in early spring
Exposure: Best in full sun
Water: Deep watering twice a month in summer
Soil: Well drained loam preferred
Fertilizer: NPK in spring and summer
Prune: Cut back after flowering to control size
Problems: Few problems

Two varieties are commonly available. 'Lutea' is the yellow, unscented variety. 'Alba Plena' is white and smells like violets. Take cuttings of these roses in the spring. These are good on trellises and arbors or over lath houses.
