Hardiness: Hardy to 20 degrees
Growth: Rapid growth to 5 feet by 6 feet wide
Form: Dense mound
Leaves: Needle-like leaves on arching stems
Flowers: Narrow red flowers, 1 to 1.5 inches long
Fruit or Seeds:
Exposure: Prefers sunny location
Water: Low water needs once established
Soil: Well drained
Fertilizer: Spring and fall with NPK plus iron and sulfur
Prune: Head or thin in spring; poor appearance when sheared
Problems: Chlorosis; don't water heavily in summer

Graceful shrubs that should be planted in wide beds and pruned with hand shears. If you have to shear these plants, use the sharpest hedge shears possible.
