Form: Dense mound
Leaves: Needle-like leaves on arching stems
Flowers: Narrow red flowers, 1 to 1.5 inches long
Fruit or Seeds:
Exposure: Prefers sunny location
Water: Low water needs once established
Soil: Well drained
Fertilizer: Spring and fall with NPK plus iron and sulfur
Prune: Head or thin in spring; poor appearance when sheared
Problems: Chlorosis; don't water heavily in summerGraceful shrubs that should be planted in wide beds and pruned with hand shears. If you have to shear these plants, use the sharpest hedge shears possible.
