  Family: Scrophulariaceae

  Origin: New Zealand


Hardiness: Hardy to 20 degrees; USDA Zones 9 and 10
Growth: Fairly slow growth to about 3 feet; easily kept lower
Form: Mound, though plant may be wider than tall
Leaves: Small, 1/2 inch; closely spaced; dark green; glossy
Flowers: Clusters of tiny white flowers in the summer
Seeds: Dark brown seed heads should be removed
Exposure: Full sun on coast, where it does best; part shade inland
Water: Regular watering; likes to be kept moist
Soil: Needs good drainage and moisture; use a mulch
Fertilizer: Spring and fall with NPK, a complete fertilizer
Prune: Cut back stems when flowers fade to keep the plant compact
Problems: Fusarium wilt; mites; sunburn in hot locations

Neat looking, fine textured small shrub. It looks best if it is pruned or deadheaded after flowering.
