Growth: Slow growth to 3 or 5 feet tall
Form: Compact globe shaped or conical
Leaves: Scale-like in a flat plane; tips turn gold in the sun
Flowers: Inconspicuous
Fruit or Seeds: Small light brown cones
Exposure: Full sun to light shade
Water: Deep watering monthly
Soil: Well drained
Fertilizer: Little needed
Prune: Not needed
Problems: Red spider mites possible

Leaf tips turn golden yellow in sunny locations. Too much reflected heat from bright walls or concrete can cause leaf tips to turn brown. This plant may be sold as Thuja orientalis or as Berckman's Dwarf Arborvitae. Good in formal settings. Bright look for winter landscapes.
