For the kind of people I could love

And for people that are kind
 

I've met all kinds of people

On the highways of my life

Some were very troubled

But most were truly kind!
 

The gentle tears we shared

The silly things we've done

And the joys and sorrows

Had made us into One
 

The gentle hand that held mine

In reassuring ways

Had turned saddened hours

Into many happy days.
 

I thank the Lord

For the Simple Things

For they filled my life with joy

My Husband, my children

All I'm living for!
 

And thank You Lord for giving me

This extra special friend.

For without her loving heart

And gentle ways, Simple Things

Won't be so grand
