Hi. My name is Joelle and I've been reading romances since Mom discovered me, at the age of ten, reading Harlequin Presents THE HONEY IS BITTER by Violet Winspear. A few years have passed since that day and, although I've read and enjoyed all types of fiction, romance has remained the safe comfort read I've come to rely on.
I enjoy all aspects of the genre. I read contemporary, historical, and alternate reality. Linda Howard, Jayne Ann Krentz, Nora Roberts were the three that got me hooked. I also enjoy Margaret Way, Carole Mortimer (love Harlequin Presents, still!) and Lynne Graham. Not to forget Diana Palmer, Sandra Brown and Elizabeth Mansfield (who I only discovered 01/99). And of course Loretta Chase.
04/18/00: I have recently discovered two authors who have become "automatic buys". They are Margaret Evans Porter and Susan Spencer Paul aka Mary Spencer. Both are fabulous storytellers with a special way with dialogue and are not to be missed. Please, check them out.
My books are my treasure. They keep me company when I'm feeling lonely and help to chase away my demons. They keep me up late with a story that I can't put down and I sleep in my walk-in closet so my books can have the bedroom. I'm not a nut, I assure you. I'm a reader.
