This was Loretta's first historical romance and it's wonderful. Set for the first half in Albania, (second in England) she brings to life a culture and country that I knew very little. (Although I did know that it was an "actual" not "fictional" country! ;) ) Add to that a hero and heroine worth crying over and you have a fabulous read.
Look for Ismal, Comte d'Esmond, who will follow as hero, in Captives of the Night.
