Διευθύνσεις (Directorates) 

Directorate A : is responsible for employment policy, analysis of the labour market, as well as social policy in the coal and steel sectors. 
Directorate B : is responsible for policy development of the European Social Fund, as well as the Community Initiatives and adaptation to industrial change. 
Directorate C : is responsible for the implementation of the regulations and actions of the European Social Fund in the Member States. 
Directorate D : is responsible for relations with the social partners and the organisation of the social dialogue. It also analyses social and industrial relations and prepares legislative texts in this area. It coordinates social security systems for migrants workers and is responsible for promoting the free movement of workers as well as equal opportunities between women and men. 
Directorate E : is responsible for analysis and research into the social situation (demography, ageing, population movements), monitoring the convergence of social protection objectives and policies, and implementation of action for the disabled. This Directorate also deals with information and external relations. 
Directorate F : (based in Luxembourg) is responsible for the preparation and implementation of Community actions in the areas of public health and safety at work. 
Directorate G : is responsible for the management of human and financial resources for the Directorate.
