An Article By An Idiot
By M.L. Morgan
Well, race fans, our good friend Sue Scott, of Sue's AdNascar Daily newsletter, told us about a particularly offensive article she's read. We rarely read what others write, but we read this one.
We are thankful to Sue for sending us the URL.
Someone going by the name of John Gearan, writing for some outfit called "Telegram & Gazette, Worcester, Mass" wrote the most offensive piece of trash I have ever seen. Not just on the internet - ANYWHERE !
This person chose to write a terribly insensitive article about racing, centering around the recent death of Adam Petty. It demonstrated nothing but his ignorance of racing.
This writer shouldn't be ostracized - he should be castrated, if he is actually male. Maybe someone got to him before I could.
We wonder what can make someone write this kind of trash. We are reluctant to speculate, but you know Race Views is not wishy-washy.
We also wonder what kind of deal "Telegram & Gazette" might be, to allow this kind of crap to be put out for the public.
We are being tactful - we know what motivates imbeciles like this. They have no lives. They intrude in our lives, absolutely uninvited, and tell us the evils of racing. Which they know nothing about. The writer of that article probably doesn't know the difference between a race and a race riot. Spare me, please.
We also know the bottom line which perpetuates b.s. like this. That's easy - the bottom line. Get that hit-counter flying - controversy attracts readers. And keeps their advertisers happy.
We think journalism of this type is an atrocity. All of the Nascar community is mourning the loss of a fine young man, and assholes like this pervade. It's worse than cancer.
These carpetbaggers may never go away. They have the 'take the money and run' approach. We are sickened by it. Let them take their money and go straight to Hell. Do not pass Go. Go straight to Hell.
And leave us alone when we are burying a family member.
