It's Time To Say Goodbye

Well, race fans, we have devoted this column to an idiot for long enough.

19 year-old Adam Petty has been laid to rest. We are crying with his family. Adam was also part of OUR family. We have to mourn in our own ways. Very hard to do.

Even the numbest person feels the loss of a young man. It is horrible.

It's devastasting to lose a child of 19. Makes no difference he was doing what he loved. That's all b.s.

We cry for Kyle and Pattie. Adam wasn't #45 on their program - he was their son.

We saw the love so many times when Kyle was offering pointers to young Adam. He wasn't talking just with a driver, he was talking with his son.

Now we have buried a young man and we all grieve.

We think it is time to ignore this moron from MA.

We will continue to race, with heavy hearts, but we will continue to race.

We don't like the word 'closure' because there is no such thing.

We never forget the others we have lost.

And we will never forget Adam Petty.

We'll go back to racing. And we'll do our best to forget about John Gearan.
