Well, race fans, most of us can't attend each race so we watch them on t.v. Just a fact of life. Not a major deal.
The major deal is the announcers. Or commentators. Or color men. Whatever. I think they truly detract from the race.
They are supposed to be the eyes and ears for us fans at home. NOT !
These people are pathetic.
It's a deal where the announcers are the race, rather than vice-versa. I didn't turn on TNN to listen to crunchies - I want to see the race.
It's bad enough the FCC allows them to have 22 commercial minutes in each hour. I accept having to use an 8 hour tape for a 4 hour race. Such is life.
But I don't care what this announcer had for lunch yesterday, or what this other announcer used to do at this particular track. Or how good this announcer's son will do.
I would like for the anouncers to tell us about the race - simple little stuff like who is leading. I don't care where Chad Little is running. Or Michael Waltrip. They are proven losers and we know where they will finish.
Race Views never poses these questions without an answer. Trust me.
We need a Code of Rules for the announcers. Nascar should have done this years ago but I guess Race Views has to do it (again).
Rule 1: Nobody cares what Benny Parsons had to eat
Rule 2: Nobody cares who almost had a wreck
Rule 3: Nobody cares where D.W. is running
Rule 4: Nobody listens to the commentary
Rule 5: Remember Rule #4
