How the tracing of our family lineage began...

[by Mary Kay Nowak-Letters]

In dedication to our dear cousin, Leonard Ferro, whose brilliant memory and tireless research of the Mollica ancestry provides us an everlasting treasure.

This letter was sent to Louise Bingham after Jane and Leonard Ferro attended one of the Mollica family reunions. This is how our family tree evolved.

Dear Family,

When Leonard and I attended our annual Mollica family reunion on August 14, 1994, I was sincerely moved by the passionate dedication and work that you all displayed. To be sure, it is important for our young people to get acquainted and to feel the keen bond of family that we have enjoyed through the years. I'll make a firm resolve that my whole family will attend next year. In speaking to Virginia, Mary, and Cookie, we started discussing the family tree. It became evident that, indeed, Leonard, is the only person who could trace everyone's roots. So, we all agreed that a clear diagram should be drawn up to clarify relationships. We got down to work and came up with the enclosed offering. Please let this be our small contribution to this beautiful tradition you all have upheld.

Also, an interesting point is that all Jims are actually Vincents. For some unknown reason, all Italians immediately exchanged Vincents for James upon settling in the United States.

Sincerely,

Jane Ferro

Note from Mary Kay: Cousin Joe Rzepecki maintains the updates of the family tree today. Thanks, Joe. And, a special thanks to Rick Mollica for his offer to merge this vast amount of information into software genealogy for all to enjoy. God Bless.
