Mark Mollica is a classy guy. Here's a newspaper article written by Connie Mollica that shows you a good example of what I mean. We're all pretty proud of him.
Maybe you could take a minute to send Mark an e-mail about this story?
A year ago our brother
Mark discussed an idea to reward a student for trying one's best, perhaps for
overcoming an obstacle, or for changing and attitude and turning things around,
and, above all, for working hard to achieve a goal. He wanted to name this award
in honor and memory of our father who valued achievement, always doing one's
best, and personal integrity.
By his own admission, Mark wasn't the greatest student but he had a wonderful goal and the desire to achieve that goal. His dream was to own his own business. Over the years Mark has worked extremely hard to achieve his success as owner of Black Tie Limousine.
Mark hoped his experience would motivate someone else. So last fall, he drove one of the 23 limousines he now owns to Paul School, and he met with the 8th grade students. Mark shared his own story of hard work and determination and he challenged the students to set goals, to work hard to achieve them and to remember that if they believe in themselves they can achieve their dreams as he has done. He said, "Believe me, if I can do it, so can you."
And Mark offered an incentive to them if they were able to demonstrate this:
Three students demonstrated such characteristics and they were chosen by their teachers in the Spring of 1997 to receive this award for extraordinary achievement in academics, extraordinary improvement in effort and attitude, and extraordinary citizenship.
Do you think these three 8th-graders enjoyed their award?!
