What A Mess!

Date: April 1, 1997
A little background for our readers: Dave DeSousa is Marcia Mollica's
husband. He is a time management expert and consultant - AKA Mister Time. In this
exploit, Dave describes what happened as he tried to return home in New Hampshire
from doing a time management seminar in Cape Cod (Massachusetts).
Howdy - I went to Cape Cod to do a
time management presentation. (Did mighty well even if I do say so myself!) As
I drove down on Monday morning, it started to rain and snow. As I drove back in
the afternoon, it started to snow (HARD!). Traffic slowed to 10-15 mph and couldn't
see ____! As it got worserer and worserer (new word), I
realized that my son Jim lived nearby so I dropped in. He was gracious enough
to give me his bed (nice lad that he is) and he slept on the couch,(he mumbled
something about "...being just like home"). When
we woke up in the morning, there was over 2 feet of snow! Son Jim didn't have
any winter boots with him, so I offered him mine so he could shovel out my
car too. What a nice lad! He not only shoveled them (3.5 cars) out, he started
them all and moved them to high ground. Of course I stood in the window giving
hand signals so he would get it just right! All you parents,
take heart! Every once in a while, your offspring just make you puff out with
pride even after they grow up!
Thanks to
Dave DeSousa (Marcia Mollica's better half) for giving us all a glimpse
into the subtle-but-great joys of parenthood.
