Arrested and imprisoned by Austrian authorities, 1933.
Helped to escape by other Nazis after 3 months. Received a
serious wound during the escape, and fled to Germany to
help arrange the Anschluss of Mar. 1938.
Arrested by U.S. authorities, 6. May 1945. Escaped from
internment, 1948, then lived under a false name in
Muelheim. Later readopted his real name.
