The Brotherhood of Darkness was formed five centuries ago when Jackie's ancestor, Miguel Estacado, reached the shores of the Americas. Led by the sinister Lord Sonatine, their purpose is to help protect the current wielder of The Darkness power... as long as that wielder shares their vision of changing the world.

Jackie Estacado adamantly refused the Brotherhood's offer of help which led them to kidnap his friend, Jenny, in an effort to coerce him into helping them. These terrorist tactics only served to strengthen Jackie's resolve not to cooperate with them.

Nonetheless, the Brotherhood of Darkness will continue to be a thorn in Jackie's side unless he is willing to go along with their plans... or die.
