COMMITMENT
The spirits of angels showed us the way
The peace of the sea again brought us love.
We've lived with each other for nearly a year.
Will a small piece of paper saying we're "legal"
Have an effect on the prior commitment we made.
A vow to love one, forsake all the others
Is made by the heart, not by the paper.
Deep in our hearts from the very first day
The commitment was there, the love daily grew.
When first our eyes met, the sea was our witness.
To a century old commitment we'd made,
We met on the beach, we'll wed on the beach.
And when our times come, we'll say adieu on the beach.
To share with the world our faith in each other,
To renew the vows we've made long ago.
To let others see the strength of our vows,
The strength of the sea that brought us together.
And for those alone, may they know of the comfort,
The peace of the sea, the spirits of angels.
