SOME OF MY SPECIAL FRIENDS

SPECIAL FRIENDS COME ALONG INFREQUENTLY IN A LIFETIME - CHERISH AND CULTURE YOUR FRIENDSHIPS

(I have been fortunate to meet many special people and make friends with many beautiful souls through the Internet - this is only a partial listing of some of my special friends. Visit our "cottage" below for a more complete listing, and as time permits, this page will grow, too. I cherish and hold dear and near each and every one of my friendships, even if they are not mentioned on this page.)

JERI

Jeri is one of those very special people. Without her help when I was a total newbie (there is always more to learn), many of my graphics would not have been possible. You can visit Jeri's new Angel page HERE. This little girl is a present from Jeri.

SHELLEY

When Shelley and I met, it was like I had met my mirror image. We've corresponded, talked on the phone, and of course talk regularly on the internet. I found this picture, and if we had met as children, it is definitely "us." Shelley found the poem below and sent it to me.

A FOREVER FRIEND

Sometimes in life,
You find a special friend;
Someone who changes your life
Just by being part of it.

Someone who makes you laugh
Until you can't stop;
Someone who makes you believe
That there really is good in the world.
Someone who convinces you
That there really is an unlocked door
Just waiting for you to open it.
This is Forever Friendship.

When you're down,
And the world seems dark and empty,
Your forever friend lifts you up in spirit,
And makes that dark and empty world
Suddenly seem bright and full.

Your forever friend gets you through
The hard times, the sad times,
And the confused times.
If you turn and walk away,
Your forever friend follows.
If you lose your way,
Your forever friend guides you
And cheers you on.

Your forever friend holds your hand
And tells you that
Everything is going to be okay.
And if you find such a friend,
You feel happy and complete,
Because you need not worry.
You have a forever friend for life,
And forever has no end.

When I left the State of Washington 3 years ago, I left behind some many dear and special friends, and through the blessing of the Internet, I am still able to stay in touch with them on a regular basis. These are really friends forever.

BARB

Barb and I met when my son, at age 3-1/2 (now 20) went knocking door to door in our new neighborhood looking for playmates. Ironically, Barb and I had met before and were both members of Beta Sigma Phi (a philonthropic sorority). Our friendship included many evenings in front of our fireplaces wondering when the snow would stop, shopping trips, laughter as well as a few tears, caring and sharing, watching our children grow. (Barb has twins, April and Matt, the same age as my son, James.) I still stay in touch with Barb regularly, and she and April have also been there for Shannon. (See Karissa's Page for more information.)

ETTA

Etta and I met when I went to work for an attorney in downtown Seattle in 1970 (eons ago!). I worked for that attorney for 16 years, and Etta and I formed a very special friendship. She is truly remarkable - Etta is in her late 70's, came to Thom's and my wedding at the beach 3 years ago, and last year came to visit us in Las Vegas. She lost her beloved husband Duane about 5 years ago, but Etta, as I said, is remarkable. She drives and maintains her own motor home (as well as the lovely home she and her husband owned), and has even taken computer classes and is on the internet. I bless the day I met Etta, and hope that I have the same sensitivity and wiseness of soul, beauty, determination and spunk when I reach her age. I am very much looking forward to her visit in Las Vegas next month. (She even brought her cat on her last motor home trip!) Etta and a friend, Jim, did get to visit with us on their recent motor home trip (with cat, of course). We had two wonderful evenings with them and I cherish each of our visits. Friends for a lifetime.

Newest awards by very special men in my life - my husband, Thom (also my best friend), and my "Internet brother," Ronny. Visit their sites if you have time.

My husband and I also have a wonderful cyberfamily of friends we have made. Please enter our cottage and meet the rest of our family at Thom's site

Special awards have also been given to me by special friends - you can view the awards and click on their sites by going HERE.

Please visit this link to find a list of sites of very special people who were with us during my granddaughter's hospitalization and are still there through her slow and gradual and consistent (we hope and pray still) recovery.

Don't lose the opportunity to find former classmates
and find friends that you have lost touch with over the years!
I've recently had the opportunity to connect with several classmates from my high school and rekindle long-lost friendships. Yes, it takes a little time to search, but it's amazing how everyone remembers the "good times" and what a thrill to exchange pictures and see how we've all fared in our lives. Each of the search engines has a "people find" - several to try are:
Classmates - highly recommend - register, it's free
Anywho
Whowhere
Bigfoot
Switchboard
Yahoo - People Search
Four11
Excite
Some of the above require registration - and ladies, you might want to register in your maiden name as well as your married name (so friends can find you) - I hope you will find the effort as rewarding as I have. Enjoy exploring your renewed friendships!

Another special friendship is that of Charlene.
She knew I loved the above "Dreamsicle" plate and just "loves" her scanner. Thank you Charlene. (Charlene also made our "cottage" for us - a very talented lady.)

I should mention the Dreamsicle plate comes from the Hamilton Collection, and without specific reference to them, it should not be copied and used to your site without making this reference.
