WELCOME TO PAM'S WAY

KITES IN THE WINDS

The following poem was inspired after looking for a greeting card to send to my almost grown children to tell them how much I missed them. There were several agonizing long months when they weren't within at least several hours driving time away. When I saw the card with the kites I thought, if only I was a kite . . . I hope you enjoy my special poem. Maybe if you're far away from someone special, you can relate or it will make you feel closer.

IF I WERE BUT A KITE

If I were but a kite, I'd soar above the earth,
I'd find my children and roam the earth with them.

If I were but a kite, I'd make their dreams come true,
If I were but a kite, I'd fly their sky of blue.
We'd frolic on the beaches, I'd zip and zoom and dive,
We'd go to all the playgrounds, and laugh like kids again.

I'd be there when they needed me, we'd all be free to love,
We'd frolic on the beaches, we'd laugh and live and love.

If I were but a kite, I'd stay right overhead,
I'd be there when they needed me, to protect from up above.

If I were but a kite, I'd make myself so small,
They could put me in their pocket and take me everywhere.

If I were but a kite, I know I'd find a way
To give them what they need, to listen and to care.
I'd be there to protect them, I'd shelter them with love,
I'd always understand, I'd savor every day.

If I were but a kite, our moments we would share,
The splendor of our freedom, the height our souls would soar.

Our worlds would spin with care, We’d love with all our might.
We’d never be apart, if I were but a kite.
