WELCOME TO PAM'S WAY3>
Pamela Pauley-Perreault

As parents, when our children become teenagers, we not only give them love, we try to help them cross the barrier from adolescence to adulthood.
Sometimes, though, even though we've given our very best,
it really isn't appreciated, the key words seem to be "more" or "better."
This came from my heart with much pain and tears at the time it was written.
Thank you for letting me share.

MY BEST LEMONS
They said I gave them only lemons,
But lemons were the best I had.
The peaches all had lost their fuzz,
Like life and love, they had turned bad.
They said I gave them only lemons,
But they were all I had to give.
I would have given gold or silver,
My own old car or life I live.
They said I gave them only lemons,
I hoped I could give more than that.
Bright and gleaming, just like new,
Not just lemons, more than that.
At first they said they liked the lemons,
They drove them where their hearts did go.
But Eagle Beast and Little Sub
Were not so new, with problems too.
My gifts of love through all their lives,
Were meant to be their special joys.
I never meant to give them lemons,
The cars were meant to be their toys.
They said I gave them only lemons,
But they were all I had to give.
I would have given gold and silver,
Even of the life I live.
If life were but a bowl of fruit,
I'd give the ripest and the best.
They'd never say I gave them lemons,
They'd know I tried to give the best.

Is this a lemon?

Eagle Beast was a 1970 Firebird Esprit and Little Sub was a 1982 Subaru DL (2-door).
Would you like to see what Eagle Beast really looked like (minus a black vinyl top)?
