ETERNITY'S ROSE
I watch you in spring, just a small baby bud,
I water and wait to watch as you grow.
To know what's ahead when your beauty unfolds,
Makes the long winter night so warm in the cold.
When spring's in the air, so crisp and so fresh,
I anxiously wait and delight in your growth.
From a small tiny bud your petals expand
Revealiing your heart and delighting my soul.
Your beauty erases the cares of my day,
For eternity knows you've always been there.
And when summer is gone and your petals are spent,
You know that I've saved them and dried them for scent.
To dream of next year when you'll come back to life,
To savor your memory through the long winter's night.
