PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

THE LATEST...

Last weekend we were in Belmont North Carolina for a Pointman International Ministries Conference. One of the highlights was meeting a young man who was home on convalescent leave from the Marine Corps.

During the battle for Anasiryah, which lasted approximately two weeks, his unit received the highest KIA total for any unit fighting in the war. He is a Hospital Corpsman and was injured when Harrier jets were dropping their bombs on enemy troops three hundred meters in front of their position. All of those in attendance were able to welcome him home and show our appreciation for him and let him know how proud of his efforts we were.

Soon after, we listened as he talked of putting Marines in body bags and describing the horror he had been through. All of the issues we have carried for over thirty years surfaced another time. But this time, we were there for another generation of warriors. AND we will continue to be there as long as God gives us breath. He promised he would come to the Tuesday night Pointman meeting that Dean Black holds. Praise God that Dean has a Pastor that encourages his involvement with Pointman and does not look at us as the competition.

Again, we met many at the Moving Wall and were able to “welcome home” many Desert Storm vets and Veterans of different conflicts. Each tried to minimize their contributions to our freedoms, and thought we were the ones that deserved the thank you.

I said all that to say this, Memorial Day is soon to be upon us and we need to reflect not only on the sacrifice that our brothers and sisters have made, but also has our life since we left the military honored that sacrifice? What would you say to the brother that died in your place? Even more importantly, what will you say to the one that sacrificed all for you, over two thousand years ago? The Bible says that we will all have to stand before God and give an accounting of our life. Are you ready?
