The Rare Exakta VX IIa V. 4
and Some Lenses from Gary Cullen's Collection

Oct 18, 1996
This morning the postman brought me a big envelope from Canada...

I opened the envelope and I found some interesting photos. The first one (me and Gary with the rare Ihagee Jr in our hands) has been by Karoline Cullen while we was near Genova, in Santa Margherita. Gary and Karoline planned a trip (Paris, Michel Rouah, Nice, Clement Aguila, Florence, friends) so I was lucky to meet them between Nice and Florence. Gary wrote few lines on the back of the photos. I use them as titles.

Exakta VX IIa, Version 4

The Exakta Varex IIa Version 4 is a very rare camera in Europe

You can tell the "Varex IIa" was hammered down. The front plate was then engraved and the re-chromed with a course matt plating.

Back side of IIA. You can still see the "Varex IIa".
