[In 1791 Matthew enlisted in the army and was sent west to present-day Ohio. While in the woods
hunting he was taken captive by Indians.  He lived among the tribe for over a year when he escaped 
and made his way on foot to Detroit. In Detroit he soon found himself in more trouble, was arrested 
and forced into the British army. Matthew eventually deserted and in 1795 he made his way back to 
Massachusetts. "A Journal of the Adventures of Matthew Bunn" was first published in 1796.]
