Whereas for obvious reasons (Hint: Klaus is not English - Ed) I don't share the xenophobic views displayed by ignorant tabloid papers that we need an English backbone to our team (I refer back my kangaroo statements). It is disturbing that we have to let a promising youngster go because apparently he isn't good enough at this
moment in time. Whether he is better than Baba or Le Saux may be open to
debate, but one of those two is over thirty and the other one's contract runs
out next year... Indeed there have been numerous stories around connecting
Baba with Rottenham and Le Saux with West Ham. On balance I would have preferred either of those two deals to go ahead then letting young Jon go... part of his popularity is undoubtedly due to the fact that after a few pints Jon Harley rhymes with Vialli.. indeed it took him a few weeks to realize the great unwashed were singing his name, but I digress... Harley is a player for the future... has been and undoubtedly will be a
CFC supporter all his life even if he makes his money down the road... his goal
against Leeds away 18 months ago will always be in our memory and I wonder
whether Hutchinson was already thinking about a Le Saux-like buy back when he
insisted that we get 25 pc of his next transfer fee: whatever we have to
pay to get him back it'll be a quarter less... For Ranieri's sake I hope it'll work on the left.....
