COLQUITT, Ga.-- Charles Edward Brooks Jr. died 20 Mar. at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, aged 83.
Charles was born in Miller County, Ga., son of Charles E. Brooks Sr. He was the retired owner of Brooks Hardware Store in Colquitt and an active civic leader. He was a member of the Colquitt Lions Club and the Colquitt Methodist Church.
Burial was in the Colquitt City Cemetery.
Survivors include sons C. Paschal Brooks and Gene Brooks, both of Arlington and Fib Brooks, Colquitt; sisters, Jeanine Brooks Wester, Bainbridge and Sylvia Brooks Larson, Anchorage, AK.; brother, Dr. T. I. Brooks, Colquitt; and 7 grandchildren.

PHENIX CITY, Ala.-- Thomas A. Taylor Jr. died here 5 May at Phenix Regional Hospital, aged 76.
Thomas was born 26 May,1921 in Montgomery, Al., son of Sally Mae Brooks and Thomas A. Taylor Sr. Thomas served in the US Navy during World War II and was on duty at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed by the Japs in 1941. He was a bird dog trainer for Sehoy Plantation in Hurtsboro until 1964. He retired from AFLAC in 1989. He was a member of Auburn Heights Baptist Church.
Burial was in Hurtsboro Cemetery in Hurtsboro, Al.
Survivors include his wife Betty Self Taylor; daughter, Shirley Hendricks, Hurtsboro; son Mickey Taylor, Phenix City; longtime friend and companion Roger ("Jack") Jones, Phenix City; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

VIVIAN MAXWELL BROOKS Former Office Manager
DULUTH, Ga.-- Vivian Mae Maxwell Brooks died 29 Mar., aged 70.
Vivian was the wife of Wilbur Clinton Brooks. She was the retired office manager of Lawyers Title Insur-ance Co. of Atlanta, a major insurance firm insuring property titles for mortgage firms. She was a member of Bluff Presbyterian Church in Wade, NC.
Burial was in Duluth City Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of Duluth; daughter, Margaret ("Peggy") Brooks Krumpe, Hull, Ga.; sons Theo C. Brooks, Crawfordville and Wilbur C. Brooks Jr., Winston; brother Carroll B. Maxwell, Apopka, Fl.; and 2 grandchildren.
JOHN C. ("J. C.") BROOKS Sr.
Retired Policeman and Minister
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-- John C. ("J. C.") Brooks died here 29 June, aged 82.
J. C. was born 25 June, 1916 in Heath, Tx., son of Cleveland ("Cleve") and Perna Brooks. He married Maxine Newcomb 1 June, 1935. J. C. worked as a policeman for the city of Little Rock until medical retirement in 1964. For the last 33 years, he has been a minister for the Churches of Christ in Des Ar, Oak Grove in North Little Rock and Hazen, Ark. He also served as a deacon, elder and song director for 50 years. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his first grandchild, Joseph Charles Brooks and a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Cox Brooks.
Burial was in Pinecrest Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 63 years, Maxine; sons J. C. Brooks Jr. and his wife Beth, Broken Arrow, Ok., Cleve and his wife Deanna Brooks, Searcy, Benny and wife Susan Brooks, Pineville, La.; sister Artie Mae Little, Morris, OK.; brothers T. F. Brooks and Henry Brooks, Mabelvale; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren.
