Brooks Family News Online

Welcome to the online Brooks Family News. If you are a Brooks or descendant of a Brooks, this is YOUR family newsletter. We will attempt to bring you current news and articles on family history about all the Brooks family branches whose roots are from the South. It will include wedding announcements, engagements, obituaries, births and general news. We will also have frequent articles spotlighting both living relatives and our ancestors.

For the newsletter to be successful, WE NEED YOUR HELP: when you hear of an engagement, marriage, birth, death or other news about a Brooks relative, please let us know the details so we can include it in your family newsletter. "No news" means you haven't sending it in!

REUNIONS

If your branch of the family is planning a reunion, please let us know the details so we can put a story about it in the family newsletters. Send full information about the time and place the gathering is to be held. If it is in a rural area, give detailed directions of how to get there from the nearest town. Tell us about your planned activities, history programs, etc. If it is an annual event, give some history of the past reunions, where they have been held, where and when it began. Give the name, mailing address and telephone number of someone to contact for more information about the reunion; also an email address if available.

AFTER the reunion, send us details about the event. How many attended, what states and cities were represented; what activities were held; if you have a reunion committee, tell the names and hometowns of the chairman and other officers; the oldest and youngest relatives who attended and a history of the past reunions.

SCHOOL NEWS . . .

If you have a kid who is graduating from high school or college; has been named to the Honors roll; been elected to a school office; won a school award; plays in school sports; or other school news, let us know so we can write about it in the family newsletters. Tell about their school history; names of parents and grandparents. If they are graduating, tell of their future plans (college, work, etc.).
