Adam Rankin Johnson served as a Brigadier General in the Confederate States Army during the War for Southern Independence. He was wounded and blinded during the war. He was born in Henderson, Ky. and died at Burnet, Tx.

General Albert Sidney Johnson led Southern troops in the Battle of Pittsburg Landing (which the yankees called Shiloh) at Pittsburg Landing, Tn. He
was killed during the battle. He was later buried at the State Cemetery.
He was born in Washington Co., Ky. He was a brother-in-law of CSA General
William Preston. His wife and children are buried at Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, Ky.
