Confederate States of America Congress

House of Representatives

Robert Johnston was born 14 Oct 1818 in Rockbridge County, Va. He served as a Delegate in the Virginia State House of Delegates. He became a delegate from the Commonwealth fo Virginia to the Confederate Provisional Congress from 1861-1862. He was elected as a Representative from Virginia to the House of Representatives of the Confederate Congess and served from 1862 to 1865.

Robert served as a Virginia State Court Judge from 1880 to 1885. He died of tuberculosis at Harrisonburg, Va. 6 Nov 1885. He was buried at Woodbine Cemetery there.
