Bradley Ryler Johnson was born 29 Sep 1829 in Frederick County, Maryland. He was elected as a delegate to the Democratic Party National Convention from Maryland in 1860. When the South seceded from the union the following and set up the Confederate States of America, Bradley enlisted in the Confederate States Army and was commissioned a General.
After the war, he was elected to the Virginia State Senate and served from 1875-1879. He died in Amelia County, Va. 5 Oct 1903 and was buried at Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore, Md.

Cone Johnson was born 11 Jun 1860 in Dawson County, Georgia, a son of Samuel Callaway Johnson and Emily Swilling. He attended Emory College, Oxford, Ga. and graduated from Peabody Normal College, Nashville, Tn. After college, he moved to Tyler, Tx. and taught for two years at East Texas University. During this time, he studied law with W. S. Herndon. He was admitted to the Texas bar in 1883 and set up practice in Tyler for the next 40 years.
In 1886, Cone was elected to the Texas House of Representatives, serving one term and was then elected to the Texas State Senate in 1888 and served to 1892. During his tenure, he introduced a bill to establish the Texas Railroad Commission.
In 1910, Cone ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination as governor of Texas. For many years, he fought sucessfully against prohibition in Texas. He later switched sides in this hotly debated subject which swept the nation for several decades. Cone married first to Eliza Sophia Robertson and after her death to Ethel Frances Hilton. Eliza served as a member of the Democratic National Committee from Texas in 1920. He died at Tyler 17 Mar 1933.
