This section of our "Famous and Notable Johnsons" is in honor of Johnson - Johnston college and university educators. Our list is by no means complete and we will be adding to it often.

Barry W. Johnson, Director of CSIS and Professor of Electrical Engineering, University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va.. Barry received BS 1979, ME 1980, and Ph.D. 1983 degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia. He joined the faculty in 1984 after two years of industrial experience in the design of fault-tolerant systems. He is author of a textbook entitled The Design and Analysis of Fault-tolerant Digital Systems published by Addison-Wesley Publishing Co., 1989. Barry is a fellow of the IEEE and also Director of the Virginia Institute of Microelectronics.

Bruce Johnson is Professor Emeritus and Senior Faculty Associate at University of Rochester, NY.

Cal Johnson, professor of music, Agnes Scott College, Decatur, Ga.

Charles S. Johnson Jr. is professor of chemistry, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC.

J. Morris Johnson was a professor of biology at Western Oregon University. He earned his Ph.D. from Oregon State University, 1964. He taught for 28 years at Western 1970-1998. His fields include General and Field Botany, Plant Cell Tissue Culture, Plant Taxonomy, Plant Ecology and Plant Anatomy.

J. W. Johnson is now Professor Emeritus at the University of Rochester, NY.

Keith H. Johnson is a professor of finance, University of Kentucky.

Peter Y. Johnson is a professor Illinois Institute of Technology
