My name is Jocelyn --from Canada. What brings me here is quite a different story. My grandmother, a very wonderful woman, was hidden from the truth about her family. She came to Canada when she was very young. She was told she was adopted; she was 73 years old before she was told that, in fact, she wasn't adopted and the man she believed was her brother for her entire life, ended up being her father. My grandmother doesn't have much to hold on to. There was once a photo of her and her father but out of hate or vain her step-mother ripped up the photograph. As for names I'll give you what she could give me. My grandmother IRIS HELENA CHURCHILL was b. 4 Jun 1924 in sub-district of Englwystein in the County of Glamorgan, South Wales, England. She lived on 38th Barlelt St. Her mother, SARAH DORTHY MORGAN had conceived with THOMAS CHURCHILL. It turns out Dorthy was to be married to another man, Ernest Hopkins. Sarah Dorthy is now deceased. My grandmother was about five when she came to Canada with her grandmother HELENA CRODEN and her father Thomas Churchill. She can't quite remember the name of the ship, it was The Luci- something. Thomas later mar MABEL MANNING and had ch: Joan and Dennis. My biggest concern is that my grandma may have more siblings and family in South Wales. She is such a loving and warm-hearted person, who feels no anger with the decisions with her upbringing because she has all a person would want. She is such a strong-spirited person who deserves to know a little bit of what her mother's family had. For I know she would be glad to share her life stories. My grandmother is getting old and is now 75 years old. She is currently residing with my sister, her boyfriend and my niece in a Southwest Alberta town in the Rocky Mountains. Another baby is on the way and I would like to make a family tree. For from what understand my family is quite interesting on all sides. My gramma also deserves her peace, for it is not just for her. It is for us, the children as well. Thank you for your time. I hope I can provide you with enough information to ask you to help me on my search. One of Iris's 6 grandchildren:
