LOYD MORGAN
1800 NC to Jackson Co., Tn.

Searching for LOYD MORGAN, b May 1800, son of JOB MORGAN. Loyd was named after his ggrandmother, ELIZABETH LLOYD. However, the second "l" was dropped from the spelling of his first name. He had many bothers and sisters - ELIZABETH MORGAN, SARAH MORGAN, DANIEL MORGAN, DERBY MORGAN, etc. He mar MARGARET ("Peggy") MORGAN, SMITH MORGAN. I have documentation that they were members of the Spring Creek Baptist Church in Jackson Co. TN. prior to the War for Southern Independence. Job was a son of JOSEPH MORGAN of Burke Co. NC. Family history relates that after many years of marriage, Loyd and Margaret separated and Loyd left the area. All trace of him, as far as the family record goes, was lost. I have documentation up to him and down to him, I just need "him"! I keep finding the date of his death. I reason that if someone knows when he died, they might know where he died. This is the one "great" mystery in my family. I would deeply appreciate any and all leads to "unearthing" Loyd.

MARY MORGAN
b 1851

I am looking for information on MARY MORGAN, Born 1851 who married GEORGE McCULLAR. They had at least 9 children: RAYMOND EVENDER, GEORGE THOMAS, IVERSON AUGUSTUS, ALLEN, EMMA, MARY ETTA, ALLIE, CHARLES WOOD and SARAH (possibly also MILDRED). She was alive in 1910 and living in Wilkinson Co., Ga. The Maddox book (of Wilkinson County History) lists her as a dau of THOMAS B. MORGAN (b 1812) and MARY JONES (1805) and the book has mistakenly married Mary's sister, Ellifair, off to George. Her other bros and sister according to the book are: WILLIAM MORGAN (b 1832), JOHN MORGAN (1835), IVERSON MORGAN, (1845), ERASTUS MORGAN (Erasmus) (1847), MARY J. MORGAN (1848) and ELLIFAIR MORGAN (1851). Again, I think Maddox inadvertantly switched the info for Ellifair and Mary. Any help you can give me would be appreciated of

JESSE B. MORGAN

I am seeking info on JESSE B. MORGAN (b 1825, GA); census indicates both parents were b. NC; mar MARY MOZLEY. He signed in Cobb Co., GA in 1867 Qualified Voters. His widow indicated he served with 46th Regiment, Georgia Volunteers on her Application of Widows of Deceased Soldiers or Sailors of the Armies of the United States or the State of Alabama. I have found military records of Jesse B. Morgan who served with the 36th Regiment, Georgia Infantry, Confederate States of America during the War for Southern Independence. She gave his death date as April 8, 1892. Their ch: MARTHA A. E. MORGAN (1847), S. JANE (1849), NANCY H. MORGAN (1852), MARIETTA ("Mary Etta") MORGAN (1856), LUCINDA REBECCA MORGAN (1858), ALICE (1860), JESSIE MORGAN (1862), ALONZO MORGAN (1864), WILLIAM C. ("Willie") MORGAN (1868), TIPACANOE ("Tipa") MORGAN, GEORGIANN MORGAN and HENRY MORGAN and two ch who died young. Georgian may have died before the 1880 census and Henry made his only appearance in 1880. Family tradition holds that Tipa was short for Tipacanoe, as in "Tipacanoe and Tyler, too." By the 1900 census, Mary L Morgan is living with her daughter, Alice Livingstone and family in Hartselle, Morgan Co., AL. Mary's death date and burial location are unknown. Alice m. ELIJAH LIVINGSTON abt 1890. One child is known: KATE MARY (b Mar 1891), mar FRANK C. HARTSELL in Morgan Co, AL. in Oct 1909. Frank died in 1919. A daughter is buried next to him but his wife is not. Did Katie remarry? Katie's father, Eliga Livingston is buried in the same cemetery. My line is Jesse Morgan. Jessie mar George Washington Jacobs in Lawrence Co, AL in 1887. At one point, they went to OK. to claim land and to bring back ponies. Family tradition states that Jesse killed someone for "squatting her land" there. Did she claim land as an Indian? I do know she went to California with one of her four sons and died there in 1936 (Los Angeles Co). According to her death certificate, her occupation was listed "own horses." Their son, Floyd, was my grandfather. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks.
