RULES AND REGULATIONS

I

ALL TOURNAMENT GAMES WILL FOLLOW THE NATIONAL FEDERATION OF
HIGH SCHOOL RULES WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:

All games will be made up of four (4) eight (8) minute running time quarters.
The last two (2) minutes of the 2nd and 4th quarters will be stop time.

A 20-point Mercy Rule will be in effect.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS


A.

Age determination is age as of December 31, 2005 (player may not turn the next age
before that date), with the following exception: Each team will be allowed to roster a maximum of
three (3) players with the September AAU Age Determination Date. Proof of age will be required for any player
in question.

B.

Final rosters with names, uniform numbers and date of birth are to be provided 72 hours
prior to the beginning of the tournament. Changes may be made prior to your first game.
All rosters must be in the official Tournament Form.

C.

All players on a team must wear the same color uniforms (jerseys) with different numbers.
All teams must be ready to supply alternate color jerseys in case of a color conflict. The
decision as to which team changes jerseys will be decided by a coin flip.

D.

Each team must be prepared to provide one person to assist at the scorer's table.

E.

Each team is required to supply a game ball approved by the referee.

F.

Start time is forfeit time.

G.

The three-point shot is in effect for all age groups at all sites lined for such.

Round-Robin Preliminary Competition games can end in a tie. Regulation overtime periods will be observed in
all age groups during Playoff and Championship games. Each team will receive one additional timeout per
overtime period.

I.

Start time for all games is as indicated on the bracket sheets. Forfeit time is ten (10)
minutes after the scheduled start time.

J.


Any team which forfeits a game without prior approval by the Tournament Director
(which can only be granted with the agreement of the opposing team) will be
immediately eliminated from the competition.

K.

Teams may begin play with a minimum of four (4) players.

L.

The referee has complete control over the game and the facility, and has final say
on all disputes.

M.

Any player ejected from a tournament game must leave the bench area immediately.
That player will not be allowed to participate in his/her team's next scheduled game.

N.

Any person who has been ejected from the building by the referee must leave
immediately. Failure to do so will result in the game being declared a forfeit.

O.

Spectators are not allowed on the court area and must remain in the stands.
Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their fans.
No food is allowed in the gyms.

P.

Rosters are unlimited. However, only 12 individual trophies will be presented per team.

Q

In the 7-8 Age Group (played at Ft. Garrison), there is NO full-court press.


III

INCLEMENT WEATHER


A.

In the event of all games being cancelled for the day due to inclement weather, all games will be
rescheduled for the next available date.

B.

For a recorded message regarding gym closings, call 410-637-7317.

C.

If the tournament is cancelled or suspended due to inclement or any other act of nature,
NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.

D.

Neither the Pikesville Recreation Council, the Pikesville Basketball Program, the Tournament
Committee, their officers and staff, will be responsible for any costs incurred by any team due to the
cancellation or suspension of the tournament.
