9TH ANNUAL COLUMBUS CLASSIC
October 8-9, 2005


RULES

I. In General

1.

All teams must register within their correct age division and competition level. Teams that
misrepresent themselves will be forfeited out of all trophy competition.

2.

Where applicable, advertised early registration discounts will only be accepted up until
the date indicated.

3.

All teams must have their completed roster submitted prior to their first game. There are
no drops or adds after the roster has been received. Teams that do not have a roster on
file prior to the competition will be subject to disqualification from trophy competition.

4.

There are no refunds after the advertised early registration date. Any team that withdraws
from the tournament after that date will not receive a refund.

5.

If the tournament is canceled in whole or shortened in part for any reason, including
inclement weather or any other "Act of God," no refunds will be given.

6.

The Tournament Committee and the Central Maryland Soccer Association will not be
responsible for any expenses incurred by any team, club or organization if the tourna-
ment is canceled in whole or in part. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to
decide on all matters pertaining to the operation of the tournament and its judgment
is final.

7.

No team will be entered or bracketed into the Tournament until all fees and registration
materials have been received.

 
ALL GAMES WILL BE UNDER FIFA RULES WITH THE
FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:

  • ALL GAMES WILL BE 50 MINUTES (25-MINUTE
    HALVES) EXCEPT FOR 16-UNDER, WHICH WILL
    BE 70 MINUTES (35-MINUTE HALVES).
  • IN PRELIMINARY GAMES WHICH END IN A
    TIE, THERE WILL BE NO OVERTIME.
  • IF ANY TIE EXISTS IN THE STANDINGS AT THE
    CONCLUSION OF PRELIMINARY GAMES, THE
    FOLLOWING PROCEDURE WILL BE INSTITUTED
    IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER:
    1. Team with most wins
    2. Head-to-Head Competition
    3. Goals Allowed
    4. Goal Differential (Max 3 per game)
    5. Coin Flip
  • IF A TIE EXISTS AT THE END OF ANY
    CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, THE GAME WILL BE
    EXTENDED TO TWO (2) 5-MINUTE SUDDEN
    DEATH PERIODS. IF THE GAME STILL REMAINS
    TIED, THE TIE WILL BE BROKEN BY A
    SHOOTOUT.
  • SCORING - POINTS WILL BE AWARDED AS
    FOLLOWS:
    WIN = 3 POINTS
    TIE = 1 POINT
    LOSS = 0 POINTS
