![]() Who are the Seventh Day Baptists?Seventh Day Baptists & Covenants![]() Covenant of the Centralia, Washington Seventh Day Baptist ChurchBeing in agreement with each other upon the biblical doctrine as stated in our Articles of Belief, we willingly enter into covenant with God and each other as members of the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Centralia, Washington, solemnly proclaiming our beliefs, and with the help of God, living a life of worship to our pledges: WE BELIEVE in one God, infinite and perfect, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, who exists eternally in three persons -- Father, Son and Holy Spirit -- and desires to share His love in a personal relationship with everyone. The Father: We believe in God the Father, who is sovereign over all and is loving and just as He forgives the repentant and condemns the unrepentant. The Son: We believe in God the Son, who became incarnate in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior. He gave Himself on the cross as the complete and final sacrifice for sin. As our Risen Lord, He is the mediator between God the Father and mankind. The Holy Spirit: We believe in God the Holy Spirit, the Comfortor, who gives spiritual birth to believers, lives within them, and empowers them for witnessing and service. We believe the Holy Spirit inspired the Scriptures, convicts of sin and instructs in righteousness. WE BELIEVE that our Lord Jesus died for our sins; that he arose from the dead and ascended into heaven, from whence He will return to the earth to judge the living and the dead; to ward eternal life unto those who have kept "the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus." (Revelation 14:12) and to set up His kingdom of righteousness. PLEDGE1. WE PLEDGE to keep the commandments of God and the Faith of Jesus. 2. WE ACCEPT the Holy Bible as our only guide to faith and practice, and will endeavor to fashion our lives according to its precepts. 3. WE AGREE to watch over each other for good, to pray for each other and for the church, that we may be built up together in Christ and grow in grace and the knowledge of the truth. 4. WE AGREE to make Christ's commission, as found in the Gospel of Matthew 28, first in our practice and our teaching. 5. WE AGREE to faithfully assemble on the Sabbath, attend the appointments, and bear the burdens and expenses of the church, according as God may give each of us the ability. All these things we will endeavor to do with the help of God
through His word and Holy Spirit.
