Here it is, where the past is not always the beginning.

UNDINE

and its people have been fasting for three months every year just like the rest of the world. But the distinctive activity which has seperated Undine from the rest of the world is that; during those fasting months its people have also believed in bringing back the 'rested-soul' from heaven to nurture them.

There is one moment though, which nobody has forgotten, when the oldest man in the city has protested and accused Ureic, whom nobody knows his real past, of being unpure. The man has told people that a long time ago he stumbled upon a holy book he had forgotten where. And the book mentioned about a young man who had done what Ureic was about to do.

You see,...Eversince the death of Ur, Ureic's uncle, Ureic has found himself dreaming and hearing voices calling him up to go North! And he remembered one dusty night, Ur tended the sheep outside the city gates and went home mad. People in the city put him to jail because they were afraid of getting hurt. But in the next morning, Ur was found dead !! Leaving nothing but a key in his hand which Ureic has carried eversince as a momento.

Ureic then told the eldest, whom he thought he could trust, about the dreams and the voices. Ureic told him that he needed to take a crusade and to go North to find his soul. The eldest obviously had a past and never told any living soul for what had happened. See, nobody in the city knows why "The Crusader Undine" never came back 200 years ago. And obviously he knew what had happened.

The eldest, who is 250 years old, is Undine's father. And he told Ureic that Undine had gone up to the Fountain World to become "The God". But that was impossible,...For the Fountain World has been protected with some sort of mistical glass which has been an illusion for every educated man who knows what it is.

So he pleaded for Ureic to leave the city at once after the fasting ceremony and find the answers himself. And to protect the city from the wrath of God, for whom the Undine people have been obidient to but never heard the old man story, he told everybody that Ureic has done unpure activity and must be banned from the 'male population city of Undine' for good!!-JDt,-
